Some Rhea-lly Exciting News!

We are so excited about our latest hatchling here at the Farm! A wonderful rhea chick hatched over the weekend and is doing really well.

It is the first time ever that a rhea chick has hatched at White Post so we are taking very special care of it. The chick is now 3 days old and is standing and running around his pen.

It is only about 8 inched tall at the moment but will grow to around 5 feet! Wow! In around two weeks time we will be able to tell if it’s a boy or a girl, and then we can start thinking of names.

We will keep an eye on it and keep you posted with pictures of how it’s growing here on the blog. He is in the incubator room under a nice warm heat lamp where you can all see his cute face and beady eyes!
