A Spring Surprise

We get really excited at Spring because we have lots of little babies born everyday. We always look forward to lambs, ducklings and chicks but this spring we have an extra special hatchling! This little fellow is a pretty cool customer. He hatched out of his little egg in the Reptile House on 1st April but its no April fool! He is a tiny redfoot tortoise and already a popular chap, and you can see why – what a cutie! He’s the first hatchling of the year and will grow up to 18 inches. As you can see from his first picture, he’s got a long way to go!
You can see our trio of adult redfoots in the Reptile House everyday and our brand new baby will be joining them from the 15th April when he is nice and strong!
