A Big “Thank You” to Downs Syndrome Derby!
18 November 2008
This Sunday I helped out with my first Farm Helper Day. We had an amazing group of girls from Downs Syndrome Derby and although we did some cool Farmer work, we had loads of fun. Once everyone had there Farm Helper uniforms on, we set to work. First of all, feeding and watering all the animals in the rodent room, then bottle feeding the baby goats. We stopped for a snack and then walked our puppy dogs, LJ and Jasmine. Farmer Cat was leading us all and next we met some beautiful baby animals. After a good dance in the Pantomime we set about feeding the big animals up the field. There was so much to do but we managed to fit loads in and the girls weren’t even tired. I however, was tired out after such a busy day! Phew!
You can see the picture of when we went to see Darren the Goat. He was happy to say hi and gave us a big wave. We gave him lots of lovley grass pellets before we went to see the cows. You can see lots of other photos of our day by clicking here!
Downs Syndrome Derby have a great new website too so click here to see what they are up to!
I would just like to say a big thank you to Claire Adlington and the rest of the team for making the day so memorable and so much fun. Hope to see you all again very soon.
